Before Heading to Newly Re-Opened Egypt Tourist Sites, Invest in Trip Cancellation Insurance
Written by Daniel Phillips on March 3, 2011 – 1:54 pmWhile everyone has paid close attention to the events unfolding in Egypt over the past few weeks, you may have missed the news that many of Egypt’s tourist-focused attractions are again open. While the attractions of Egypt are certainly amazing and of great historical importance, traveling to the country for sightseeing is likely not at the forefront of most tourists’ agenda. However, if you are in fact interested int planning a trip to the country soon, be sure to buy trip cancellation insurance before heading out.
According to CNN.com, Zani Hawass, Egypt’s Minister of Antiquities, has announced his desire for tourists to add Egypt to their list of destinations once again in the near future. Very Busy Week In Individual Health Insurance Reform
Written by Lindsay Torres on March 1, 2011 – 11:28 amIf you’re keeping score, three federal judges have now ruled in favor of the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) while two have ruled against it. The latest to weigh in was a federal judge in the District of Columbia who last week upheld the constitutionality of the health reform law. The decision reinforces the divided opinion the lower courts have toward the law, which is expected to wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court for a final decision sometime in the next year or two. Predicting an outcome, many analysts agree, will not be easy.

What Can Health Savings Accounts Do For Entrepreneurs?
Written by Lindsay Torres on March 1, 2011 – 3:37 amWhen you start your own business, you may find that individual health insurance is among your biggest expenses. A Health Savings Account (HSA) can be a great asset for both the self-employed and small business owners.
If buying an individual health insurance plan is similar to renting, then investing in an HSA plan can be thought of as similar to investing in a home, which allows you to build equity. While a Health Savings Account can only work with a high-deductible policy, that’s the type of health insurance that has low premiums.
Rather than send high premiums to an insurer every month, you can invest the money you save on premiums in a tax-advantaged Health Savings Account. As long as your health remains good, you’ll have few medical expenses and won’t need to use your HSA funds for your deductible.
If you do have health care expenses, you can withdraw pre-tax deposits from your HSA to cover them. You can also pay for many expenses not covered by standard health plans, such out-of-pocket costs for dental, prescriptions or vision services.

Drinking and Drugs Abroad: Things to Consider
Written by Daniel Phillips on February 26, 2011 – 4:38 pmBalance fun and safety when studying abroad – it’s very important to pay attention to the laws of the country you’re visiting when you’re partying. Numerous American students are arrested abroad on drugs charges or alcohol-related offences. Think you’ll be OK if you claim ignorance of local regulations? Think again.
Know the age limit for alcohol consumption. Take heed of rules regarding drinking in public places and driving when under the influence, and keep to them. Because accidents happen when you’re under the influence, take care to avoid excess alcohol consumption and take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover you for healthcare abroad if you need it.
And never carry packages for anyone – if you’re caught traveling with illegal drugs you could end up in jail for the best years of your life. Drug charges can be severe in other countries – from hard labor to the death penalty in certain cases. Don’t use or have drugs in your possession – it’s simply not worth the risk to your health and freedom.
Most of all, do
